Found A Sick or Injured Animal?

If you’ve found a wild animal that you think might be sick or injured…
  • If it’s a native bird we can help.
  • If it’s a native mammal, reptile, or amphibian, we can refer you to the right facility (see contact info below).
Birds
When a bird is obviously injured, bring it to our rehabilitation clinic for immediate treatment. We’re open every day of the year from 8:00AM to 6:00PM for bird admissions.
If you're unsure if the bird needs your help or have questions about handling, housing, and transporting it, please call our Wildlife Help Line first: 205-663-7930, Ext. 2. You must leave a message on this line to be assisted by a trained Specialist. Specialists are busy caring for animals but monitor this line and return calls at least every hour from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. The only way to talk to a Specialist is to leave a message, and they will return your call as soon as they can.
