Raptor Force is a group of young adults who want to support and promote the mission of the Alabama Wildlife Center. Raptor Force members show their support through fundraising events, community visibility and volunteer work. Raptor Force hosts and participates in several fundraisers throughout the year and they get their hands dirty by volunteering to do periodic clean-up of the AWC campus. Raptor Force members have the opportunity to network, gain leadership experience and become invested in the greater Birmingham area community.
Why should I join Raptor Force?

Support an organization that is committed to protecting and preserving Alabama’s native bird population and to educating the public on conservation issues

Network with young professionals who are committed to conservation of Alabama’s valuable natural resources

Develop leadership skills with potential to join the AWC (or other organization) Board of Directors in the future

Become a charter member of the AWC Junior Board with an opportunity to serve in an executive-level leadership position
What would I have to do as a Raptor Force member?

Commit to and support the mission of the Alabama Wildlife Center

Volunteer for one of the following Junior Board committees:

Event Planning Committee

Marketing Committee
-
Sponsorship/Fundraising Committee

Attend 75% of the meetings (9 of 12 per year) – some of these may be phone meetings

Sell tickets for fundraising events that support AWC

Make an annual personal contribution of $50
-
Commit to a one-year term with the option to continue involvement after the first term
How do I become a member?
Complete a Junior Board application. Submit a paragraph on why you are interested in becoming involved, what you hope to gain and what activities you would like to see AWC organize.
