Volunteer Overview

The Alabama Wildlife Center operates almost entirely through voluntary efforts. Work with compassionate and dedicated like-minded people to keep our mission thriving. One-of-a-kind experiences await you! There are many ways you can get involved.
  • Choose your day(s) and time(s) – we’re open every day of the year (even holidays!)
  • Choose any time commitment – you can pick from a weekly (or more frequent) shift, short-term projects, or occasional “done-in-a-day” opportunities
  • Choose your location – serve at our Pelham facility (in Oak Mountain State Park), out in the community at large, or even in the comfort of your own home
If you have questions or are ready to get started, email us or call (205) 663-7930, Ext. 3. Another way to explore volunteering at AWC is to register to attend a Volunteer Orientation / Intro to AWC, held monthly from 2-4PM (usually the first Sunday of each month except December). Please note that the minimum volunteer age is 18 (16 if accompanied by parent).
