CARING FOR ORPHANED BABY MAMMALS

You are invited to attend a training workshop on Saturday, October 6th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Care of Orphaned Baby Mammals.

The Alabama Wildlife Center is Alabama’s oldest and largest wildlife rehabilitation center.  Volunteers are needed to work at the Wildlife Center, and also to care for low-risk mammals such as squirrels and rabbits at home. These animals are not pets, but are raised by professional guidelines so that they can safely return to the wild.   Topics covered include:

  1. How to reunite babies with their mothers

  2. Initial Care of new orphans

  3. Care and feeding guidelines for all stages of development

  4. Disease Control and sanitation

  5. Preparation for release to the wild
