RAPTOR NETWORK WORKSHOP

The Alabama Wildlife Center is currently recruiting new volunteers to join the Center’s State-wide Raptor Network.  You are invited to attend a training workshop on Saturday, October 6th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Rescue, Emergency Care and Transport of Birds of Prey.

The Alabama Wildlife Center is Alabama’s oldest and largest wildlife rehabilitation center.  In 2006 the Center rescued and cared for 425 injured or orphaned birds of prey from 35 Alabama counties. Trained Raptor Network volunteers living in the area where the birds are found assist in transporting the birds to the Wildlife Center. Often, the same volunteers return the birds to their original habitat for release.   Click here to read about a Barred Owl that was rescued, rehabilitated and returned to the wild because of the Alabama Wildlife Center’s Raptor Network.
