ARE YOU AN ANIMAL LOVER?  WANT TO VOLUNTEER?

Orientation for new volunteers is held at our headquarters at Oak Mountain State Park.  The Alabama Wildlife Center is a non-profit agency that helps injured and orphaned native wildlife. Volunteers will have one-of-a-kind opportunities with unique hands-on experience with wildlife in the clinic. Our patients range from injured hawks, owls and eagles to orphaned squirrels, ducklings and birds. We have a variety of fundraising, special events, and administrative volunteer opportunities as well.

You must attend the entire orientation program in order to become enrolled as an Apprentice in the Animal Care program and to become eligible for advanced workshops on bird and mammal care, and for training to work as a Wildlife Rescue & Release volunteer, on the Wildlife Hotline, and other volunteer activities which require special instruction.

We prefer that all active volunteers join the Alabama Wildlife Center as current, dues-paying members.

Please dress for comfort in the outdoors and plan to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of the Wildlife Center, which is situated atop a wooded ridge in the heart of Oak Mountain State Park.

Early registration will allow you into Oak Mountain State Park at no charge, but only if you complete orientation registration a week before the scheduled time.

Please send any fees or membership dues with your registration.

In order to hold a class we must have a minimum of 10 people registered, so please register early!
